Who is really disrespecting Mohammed? Me or you?
Dear Abdul Latheef, my dear good friend….
Respect is not because of blind belief.
Respect is not to confine or to be confined.
Respect is not to confine or to be confined.
Respect is not given, not asked for
With the offers and promises
That the respecting one will be rewarded
For respecting
And with the threats and warnings
That not-respecting one will be punished
For not respecting.
That not-respecting one will be punished
For not respecting.
Respect should be out of
Spontaneous reflection and reaction.
It is not in compulsorily saying “peace be upon him”.
************
I respect Mohammed I know.
Not because I am ordered to do so.
Mohammed I know
Took the risk of rebelling the brute majority
And get disrespected for that.
He did not live for salaries and allowances.
That is why I did not use “peace be upon him”
Whenever I refer the name “Mohammed”.
Because the Mohammed I know is at peace.
He is a saved soul.
For me Mohammed is a saved soul
Needing no prayer from me or any.
Those people who consider
Mohammed is not at peace,
And is not a saved soul thereby,
Pray from him with “peace be upon him”
Whenever they invoke his name.
*************
And as a matter of fact,
Whenever we refer any name
Of any so-consiidered great or saved souls
(like Buddha or Jesus Christ
Or Mahatma Gandhi or Mother Theresa
Or Socrates or Moses)
We don’t say “Peace be upon him”.
Because we all consider them all
As the save souls.
None of them wanted too to do so.
Rather they prayed, worked and wished
For the peace of the poor people,
Than asking the poor people to pray form them.
Then why only for Mohammed
We should say “peace be upon him””
Whenever we have to refer his name.
*********
Dear Abdul Latheef,
I would rather prefer to say
“Peace be upon you” or
”Peace be upon all the creatures”,
But Mohammed or other saved souls, as a must.
But for the so-called saved souls.
Especially if you really believe
Mohammed is a saved soul,
Guaranteed and promised with paradise.
Why should Mohammed want and deserve
My prayer throughout for him?
No prayer or Qutuba in Islam is complete
Without a prayer for him. Why?
“Peace be upon Mohammed” (Swalaath)
Is a compulsory act and chant
In every daily five time prayer
And weekly qutuba and other prayers.
Why?
Because with the Mohammed you represent
There smells something wrong,
An aspect of guilty feeling.
Or at least you do not consider
Mohammed as a saved soul.
*************
True, according to your own history and interpretations
Mohammed was a saved soul
With his ultimate knowledge of “La Ilaaha Illa Allah”
When he was, and when he said, in Makah.
But once he reached Medina,
He was somehow misled
Or was forced to politicize it.
He had to wage lot many wars.
He had to marry a lot.
There he became guilty,
Or he had a guilt feel of being an unsaved soul.
May be that is where from
He had to ask all to pray for him “peace be upon him””
(Yaa Ayyuhalladeena
aamanoo,
Swallooo alaihi wa sallimooo thasleema” (Quran).
***************
If Mohammed considered himself,
Or you consider him, as saved soul
Guaranteed and promised with paradise,
Then, why should the unsaved poor souls,
With no guarantees or promise of paradise,
Pray for such a saved soul of Mohammed?
Why should you consider such a prayer for Mohammed
As a sign of respect?
Why should such a prayer be made compulsory
In all prayers and Qutubas to be complete?
As for me, praying for him is equal to disrespecting him.
It is equal to saying he is not a saved soul.
It is equal to saying he deserves pity, sympathy
And prayer from all of us,
Unlike other so-called great souls.
No other great souls wanted such a prayer
For them from their followers.
So, Abdul Latheef,
Who is really disrespecting Mohammed?
Me or you?
