All the ruling party has are the threats, lies, extreme cruelties, and hate-mongering that made them who they are — and that still keep them holding on to power.

One almost feels that even the thoroughly foreign British were better than this current regime.

The lesson this government teaches is that those who carry out occupation need not be foreigners at all.

Native traitors too can carry out an occupation through lies and riots.

One can carry out an occupation by weaponizing communalism, hatred, and lies against an uninformed populace.

That is exactly what our country’s current ruling establishment is showing us.

Committing treason while speaking of patriotism. Giving poison while calling it nectar.

An occupying government that turns its own people into traitors.

While native peaceful protesters strike for just demands, the real traitors — the occupying government and its party — try to infiltrate disguised hooligans from their own party among them, armed with weapons and stones, to create chaos.

Who is doing the betraying — this occupying ruling party, or the peaceful, popular, democratic, human-rights response led by ordinary people like Abhijit Deepke and Sonam Wangchuk?

Who gave the people hollow promises and false hopes, deceiving them then and deceiving them now?

Who misled and betrayed the people of this country by creating nothing but hatred, lies, and riots?

One should not act like someone’s agent for personal gain, parroting whatever they’re told — and so…

Is it the ruling central government party — which constantly conjures accusations of treason, of being Pakistani/Chinese/Bangladeshi agents, and stirs up hatred against Muslims to divert people’s attention from the hollow promises and false hopes it gave — or is it Abhijit Deepke and Sonam Wangchuk, who hold no power or authority and have nothing personal to gain, striving instead for the people; or is it the CJP — the youth itself, robbed of jobs and education, and thus betrayed — who is betraying the people?

They said black money would be brought back,

that the rupee’s value against the dollar would be restored to forty,

that a hundred smart cities would be built,

that petrol and gas prices would be brought below 50 and below 400,

that two crore jobs would be given every year,

that fifteen lakh rupees would be deposited in everyone’s account…

They even said that if the benefits of demonetization weren’t felt within fifty days, they could be publicly set on fire…

That prices of daily essentials would be reduced…

That the tax burden would be reduced…

Who is it who deceived people with this pile of hollow promises and false hopes?

Isn’t it the ruling party?

Who is it that falsely used the beautiful word “nationalism” to sell off — and continues to sell off — the nation?

Isn’t it the ruling party?

How, whom, and for what could Abhijit Deepke and Sonam Wangchuk — who hold no power or authority, who have nothing of their own to gain, and who strive for the people — possibly be betraying?

Isn’t “might makes right, might makes law, might makes justice” the hallmark of today’s fascist Indian regime?

The very same “might makes right, law, and justice” that American and Israeli occupying powers assert against other nations — isn’t that exactly what the fascist Indian regime shows toward the poor citizens of its own country?

“Whoever has power calls the shots” — isn’t that the picture Indian fascists paint?

When the rest of the powerless, ordinary people question this power steeped in cruelty and blatant lies, they are branded mere terrorists, traitors, Pakistani/Chinese/Bangladeshi agents.

The ruling party behaves worse than a mere occupying power.

This occupying power deploys agents to turn popular protests against each other and destroy them —

carrying out the same cruel strategy of “divide and rule,”

relying solely on the arrogance of the military, police, and weapons against its own people — just like an occupying power.

It is only on that basis that the occupying powers and their sycophantic news media are able to ignore this massive popular youth protest now taking place at Jantar Mantar, and cling to power.
