Raw fish is one thing. Fish in a curry, simmered down with good raw mango, tomato, coconut, turmeric, and salt, is another.
Seeing, displaying, and circulating something pulled out of the Quran, torn from its context, is one thing. The Quran, and what it says in its proper context, is another.
One who doesn't eat raw fish raw, who sees it as foul-smelling and unclean, will happily enjoy the fish in the curry, and will enthusiastically arrange it beautifully on the dining table.
That is how the Quran is, and the verses read from within the Quran itself.
Pulled out of context, even good food becomes like something placed in a toilet bowl. It becomes inedible. You wouldn't feel like going near it.
It is like the life-blood that should be flowing in the body, the blood that runs as life itself. If it comes outside the body, out of its context, it becomes something filthy and frightening.
In the same way, fascist occupying forces, driven by their vested malicious interests, pull things out of the Quran and merely parade them in public.
Every verse is the life-blood flowing through the veins of the living Quran.
In its completeness within the body that is the Quran, it is precise, clear, contextual, enduring across the ages, and guiding human life in every dimension.
What would it look like if each organ were removed from the body and displayed separately?
That is exactly what those do who, intending to mislead people about the Quran, pull things out and quote them here and there.
What suits its context becomes unsuitable once it is pulled out of that context and placed outside the body.
What comes from the Quran is like life-blood, which can be made to look filthy when shown outside the body.
Just as what is in the stomach is filthy and foul-smelling once it reaches outside the stomach.
What is in the stomach is not meant to come into the mouth.
What has gone from the mouth to the inside is not the same as what was before it went in, if it comes back out.
When that happens, what belongs on the dining table ends up as if placed in a toilet bowl, and what belongs in a septic tank ends up on your dining table.
The Quran's instructions for a wartime atmosphere are not instructions for peacetime, for ordinary life.
This is true not just of the Quran, but in any country and anywhere in the world.
Instructions given to soldiers in wartime do not apply to ordinary people in ordinary life.
So it should be understood that the Quran is a book that deals with war and peace, politics, economics, society, family, and more.
Because it is a living book, the Quran pervades all of life, engages with it, and serves to intervene and respond.
Whoever reads the Quran in full will find nothing out of place or incongruous, nothing but a comprehensive and beautiful whole.
