Groups formed by differences of opinion are not castes. BJP, Marxists and Congress are not different castes.

Groups formed by differences of opinion are not castes.

The BJP, the Marxists and the Congress are not different castes.

Groups formed by differences of opinion are not a permanent label acquired by birth, as caste is.

Groups formed by differences of opinion can be chosen.

The sects within Islam and among Muslims are merely groups formed by differences of opinion, just like the BJP, the Congress and so on: changeable in any direction, and chosen.

Even if it is true, as someone claims, that castes exist among Muslims in North India, that is a story of ignorance in North India. It is not the story of Islam or of Muslims.

All that is only the result of ignorance in India, and of the Indian caste system simply being carried over.

What this writer said, very clearly, is that there is no caste or casteism in Islam, and none among Muslims who believe in and follow Islam.

In any case, the fact that there is no caste or casteism in Islam or among Muslims is something that anyone clearly knows, or can know.

Note that what was said was "among Muslims in India."

In India...

In a land full of filth, that filth will creep into everyone who lives there unless they stay vigilant.

It is just like the fish smell that clings to someone who has been to a fish market. It is the influence of one's surroundings.

This writer too said that the filth of pride in birth and lineage, and of high-and-low hierarchy, which crept in that way, does exist among Indian Muslims.

But those filthy practices of hierarchy and casteism are not in the articles of faith of Islam, and do not belong to it.

The Hindu belief in sins and merits of a previous birth:

The belief that each person's birth is determined by the sins and merits of their previous birth.

The belief that each person's birth is merely a rebirth that results from the sins and merits of a previous life (a belief said to be that of Hinduism).

This created the filth of hierarchical casteism among Hindus in India. It also made people feel no pang of conscience at all in enforcing that hierarchical casteism.

Islam, which does not contribute such a belief in birth based on previous-life sins, merits and rebirth, did not produce such hierarchy among Muslims.

Instead, Islam established only that all human beings are equal, alike before one single God.

That is, among Muslims who are Muslims because they believe in and follow Islam, there is no caste that becomes a stamp by birth, and no casteist hierarchy, in their lives or in their world, and there will not be.

If the governments of India determine that there are castes among Indian Muslims, will there then be caste in Islam? Can it be said that Islam has a caste system?

Isn't the basis of Islam only Islam itself, that is, the Quran and the example set by Prophet Muhammad?

The basis of Islam is not the Indian government and government records, is it?

The castes among Muslims determined by the government are not castes that Islam permits or prescribes.

Islamically, there is only one human being, one earth, one God and one system.
