Is caste not just occupation?
Isn't there a hierarchy in jobs?
Aren't there higher and lower people in jobs?
Isn't that same rise and fall in jobs also what exists in the caste system?
The question seems very innocent. It even seems correct.
But this is another way, and another question, that Sangh Parivar people use to mislead innocent people who don't understand.
The answer is simple.
Jobs exist everywhere in the world.
A job is a choice.
A job changes and rises according to qualification, and as qualification and experience increase.
A job can be done, learned, acquired, changed, and switched as convenience and need dictate.
But caste is received only by birth.
Caste cannot be changed or raised.
Caste is not a choice.
Caste cannot be changed or altered through learning or acquiring things as convenience and need dictate.
Casteism was created by colonizing powers to keep a people enslaved for their own purposes.
The belief and practice that caste is nothing but an occupational identity received by birth is part of the casteism created by that colonization.
