The ship called the nation has sprung a leak………..

Those who call themselves captains are the very ones who have caused this leak in the ship called the nation.

Those who call themselves captains are people without humanity, and they rule the country.

Patriotism must begin precisely by fighting against these inhuman “captains” who call themselves so.

This is the real freedom struggle.

Compared to these people, even the British were far better.

The humanity of a populace that cannot adequately resist those without humanity will gradually be lost.

Such people will, without even realizing it, have become slaves —

slaves who know only how to sing hosannas to their master.

That is precisely why now is the time for the greatest struggle, the true freedom struggle.

The struggle against the evils eating away at the nation from within is itself becoming the freedom struggle.

This struggle against these cruel people who are one’s own countrymen will be harder than the struggle against any invading force.

A struggle against those who make lies, cruelty, and communal riots their only weapon and vision.

Those termed “captains” are themselves looting the country, violating it, all while speaking of patriotism.

So, to the Congress, the Marxists, and other opposition parties, this must be said:

If you are only trying, by whatever means, to save your party — and then your own personal political future —

if none of you are trying to save the country —

if every political party and leader sees the nation and power merely as planks pulled out for personal profit from a house about to burn down —

you must stop this.

The time has come for you to set aside your own interests and those of your party, for the sake of the nation.

The time has come for you to forget party and become whatever is needed, for the sake of the nation.

For the sake of the nation, you must set aside your party and support every good movement and struggle that arises from anywhere, in order to save the country.

What lies ahead now is the true freedom struggle.

Because the British were foreigners, it was easy to see them as enemies. But these unrighteous people within your own home, who mislead people into mistaking unrighteousness for righteousness — them, you will not understand. You will not realize they are the enemy.

Organizing the struggle against the British was relatively easy, precisely because they were foreigners.

Because that struggle was not against those who, in the name of patriotism, create riots and bombings and set the people of the land against each other; it was not against those committing treason.

The British did not have popular support.

At most, the British had the support only of the upper-caste landlord elites, who had made a habit of clinging to power like leeches and sucking its blood.

As you know, India has never had — not then, not now — a people educated and conscious enough to do anything more than merely oppose or merely support.

Isn’t that precisely why the Indian people, both then and now, fell so easily under domination?

But now, the opposing power you must fight directly is a truly terrible force.

The power of wolves in sheep’s clothing.

It is a power that rules by making its own people slaves — feeding them any lie as if it were a lesson — using religious bigotry and superstition as its allies.

It is a power that, among a people utterly lacking awareness and consciousness, has weaponized superstition, hatred, envy, animosity, and division.

It is a power that, using the beautiful word “patriotism,” commits nothing but treason, selling off the entire nation.

Because those who violate and betray the nation in its own name have already hijacked it.

What is happening in India now is the spectacle of a vast majority of politically undeveloped people lending strength — through the very weapon of patriotism — to precisely such an anti-national party.
